Dr. Heinz-Jürgen Prokop has over 33 years of management experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on research/development, production and purchasing, sales and service as well as marketing. Among other things, he worked in the high-performance laser sectors for material processing, construction machinery, CNC grinding technology, refrigeration machines and flexible sheet metal processing. His work is based on the conviction that sustainable success requires continuous leading innovations in all areas of the company.
As CTO of TRUMPF Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH + Co. KG, he created a global network of all development departments whose work was based on agile methods, an agile organization and the transfer of products to modular systems. In his subsequent position as CEO and member of the group management of TRUMPF GmbH + Co. KG, he was responsible, among other things, for the China market, founded a joint venture for software development in India and changed the company's strategy from selling individual machines and systems to the realization of production solutions with the vision of developing the autonomous factory through digitalization.
Mr Prokop was chairman of the VDW (Association of German Tool Machine Factories) for six years. He is currently President of the European umbrella organization CECIMO (European Association of the Machine Tool Industries and related Manufacturing Technologies) and is therefore well networked in the industry.
